Auto-detection

The Instruments page (/instruments) is the single entry point for uploading vendor instrument files. The orchestrator (backend/services/instrument_parser_service.py) auto-detects the type from file content (XRD, GC/MS, UV-Vis, FTIR, NMR, Rheology, Battery cycler), or you can pass instrument_type explicitly. If detection fails it lists the supported types.

The result envelope

• parser key, instrument_type, filename
• evidence_class — MEASURED (real data), EXTRACTED (vendor extraction), DEMO (placeholder)
• raw_metadata, data_series, peaks_or_features, derived_properties, warnings
